Connecting Repos

On first-time login, the Gitar Home page will show a welcome message inviting you to connect your repositories to Gitar.

After initial setup, you can always update the connected repositories by going to Settings > Code and clicking on the "Configure" button.

GitHub

If you use GitHub, your Gitar administrator must have GitHub admin permissions to install the Gitar Bot app for your GitHub Organization and to update connected repositories. This app can be installed only on GitHub organizations and not on individual GitHub accounts.

Important: If the initial Gitar administrator does not have GitHub admin permission for your GitHub Organization, then installation will need to start again with a user that does have admin permissions.

GitLab

GitLab repos can be connected via a one-click OAuth connection or by manually entering a personal access token, a GitLab hostname, a group or namespace path, and an optional project id.
