Send updates and notifications to your Slack workspace with Gitar
Overview
The Gitar Slack App enables your team to stay informed about pull request activity without leaving Slack. When integrated, Gitar can send notifications based on pull request activity to your Slack workspace, keeping your team in the loop on code reviews, CI failures, and other updates.
Features
- Send Channel Notifications - Gitar can send Slack messages to public or private channels that the Gitar App has been added to.
- Send Direct Messages - Gitar can send notifications directly to individual users.
- Fetch Information - Gitar can retrieve information from Slack messages and apply it to pull request reviews and updates.

Get Started
Follow these steps to connect your Slack workspace with Gitar.
Navigate to your organization's settings in the Gitar dashboard to begin the integration:
- Navigate to your organization's Settings in the Gitar dashboard
- Go to the Integrations section
- Find the Slack card under Communication and click Connect
You'll be redirected to Slack's authorization page to approve the Gitar Slack App:
- Select the workspace where you want to install the Gitar Slack App
- Click Allow to authorize the installation
Once connected, you can ask Gitar to send Slack notifications directly from your pull requests. Simply comment on your PR with instructions for Gitar.
